INDICATIONS AND USAGE Edema Furosemide is indicated in adults and pediatric patients for the treatment of edema associated with congestive heart failure, cirrhosis of the liver, and renal disease, including the nephrotic syndrome. Furosemide is particularly useful when an agent with greater diuretic potential is desired. Hypertension Oral furosemide may be used in adults for the treatment of hypertension alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents. Hypertensive patients who cannot be adequately controlled with thiazides will probably also not be adequately controlled with furosemide alone.

HOW SUPPLIED Furosemide tablets, USP, for oral administration, are available as: 20 mg: round, white, scored tablets, debossed GG 21 on one side and plain on the reverse side, and supplied in: Boxes of 25x30 UD 750 NDC 63739-111-01 Boxes of 25x30 PC 750 NDC 63739-111-03 Boxes of 10x10 UD 100 NDC 63739-111-10 40 mg: round, white, scored tablets, debossed GG 201 on one side and plain on the reverse side, and supplied as: Boxes of 25x30 UD 750 NDC 63739-112-01 Boxes of 25x30 PC 750 NDC 63739-112-03 Boxes of 10x10 UD 100 NDC 63739-112-10 80 mg: round, white, scored tablets, debossed GG 80 on one side and plain on the reverse side, and supplied as: Boxes of 25x30 UD 750 NDC 63739-113-01 Boxes of 25x30 PC 750 NDC 63739-113-03 Boxes of 10x10 UD 100 NDC 63739-113-10 Exposure to light might cause a slight discoloration. Discolored tablets should not be dispensed. Store at 20°-25°C (68°-77°F) (see USP Controlled Room Temperature). Dispense in a tight, light-resistant container.
